A new Barangay Health Center in Brgy Donghol worth
P820,000.00 from the supplemental budget was formally open for operation
yesterday February 3, Wednesday. Ormoc City Mayor Eric “Beboy”
C. Codlla with Vice Mayor Nepomuceno P. Aparis I, Dr. Marilyn Pascual,
& Brgy Donghol Chairman Henry Gonato cut the ribbon to mark the official
opening of its operation.
Mayor Beboy said that the realization of the center is
a joint effort of the Brgy council and Hon Dudie Larrazabal. The mayor
commended the idea of the Brgy chief in constructing the center inside
the basketball court because people won’t be scattered in acquiring
the government services during Brgy consultative assembly. The new center
is very much useful in the city’s health programs, he added. Mayor
Beboy asked the recipients of the center to take good care of it. Vice
Mayor Aparis on the other hand said that Brgy Donghol was not forgotten
by the city. Projects such as the health center, stage, comfort rooms,
electrification, water installation, computer set and soon to rise, the
school perimeter fence and 2-classroom school building are indications
that Brgy Donghol was not neglected. Taking care and using it on its purpose
was his important point to the villagers. Coun. Larrazabal jestingly recalled
how he helped Gonato in the realization of the project. Meanwhile, City
Health Officer, Dr. Nelita D. Navales assured the utilization of the center.
She also said that doctor and midwife assigned would regularly visit the
center.
Brgy Chairman Gonato filled with gladness that his request
is now materialized. He was very thankful to the City Mayor and the 11th
Sanggunian Panglunsod headed by Vice Mayor Aparis as well as Coun. Claudio
Larrazabal their Kagawad in-charge. He believes that if blessed the edifice
would last long.
After the program, Mayor Beboy had the chance to inspect
the Material Recovery Facility built by the Brgy Council. The MRF is the
concrete output of Chairman Gonato after he attended the seminar in Bohol
last year. It was observed that Brgy Donghol is practicing waste segregation.
