After the series of handicraft livelihood trainings,
the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has finally opened
a booth and display center inside the traveler’s lounge at the bus
terminal, this city, during the inauguration and blessing of it today,
February 8.
The handicraft products which are usually made of recyclable
materials such as newspapers and plastics were manufactured by women’s
federation organized under the women’s welfare association livelihood
program of the CSWDO. The finished products like a rosary decorated with
beads are sold P50-100 each. The center exhibits flowers, earrings, bracelet,
bags, necklace, etc.
CSWD Officer Marietta Legaspi said the center has a saleslady
to entertain handicraft buyer or customer in the morning and afternoon.
She said this lady would get 20% of every item sold as payment. Legaspi
said the profit sharing was agreed with the federation and her office.
Father Box Navarredo officially blessed the booth and
display center. Other people graced this affair included Mayor Eric C.
Codilla, Councilors Pepe Alfaro Jr. and Fe Lladoc and other CSWDO employees.
